Working with One Housing Group we produced a feasibility study for the conversion and extension of Acton Town Hall for inclusion within their bid to purchase the building. The feasibility showed a baseline of 58 dwellings, and an enhanced scheme of 68. The latter was subject to replacing the existing roof with an additional storey. The current proposal has been carefully negotiated with English Heritage. The design preserves as much of the existing building as possible whilst also delivering the quantum of units required by the client. This is achieved by two bold moves: By creating a new stand alone block to infill a gap in the streetscape, and by replacing the existing sloping roof with a new mansard and roof extension.
