The project consists of 56 dwellings of a variety of sizes including one, two and three bed dwellings.
The block is U-shape and is arranged around a central courtyard garden. It has street facing facades on three sides of the development. The massing of the blocks is carefully designed to respond to the specific context on each side. To the north of the site is a large open space and so the scale of the scheme increases to address this space. The blocks are kept lower to reflect the historic street pattern and scale of adjacent structures at the south of the scheme.
The project includes maisonettes accessed directly from the street at ground and first floors. These dwellings run the full depth of the block so are dual aspect. At the upper floors a partial deck access design has been employed to ensure that there are no north facing single aspect dwellings. These design moves ensure that daylight and sunlight as well as cross ventilation is achieved to all homes.
