This development of seven courtyard homes, flats and B1 space takes full advantage of views into the adjoining mature trees of a designated ‘Site of Nature Conservation’. The design solution creates a row of terraced houses overlooking a safe, landscaped pedestrian mews street together with a stand-alone B1 office building.
The houses have private south facing terraces at second floor that provide extensive views into the existing tree canopies. The positioning of these terraces creates an interesting rhythm of solid to void which is further emphasised by the proposed materials. Light brickwork and dark timber cladding highlights this rhythmical detailing and creates a visually interesting juxtaposition along the length of the terrace
